Due to cuts in government spending, local mental health services are currently being cut completely or scaled back. This means we have seen a huge increase in demand for our services, which is putting pressure on our funding. We received a 5-year grant from the National Lottery in November 2015 which will cover approximately 50% of our running costs per annum and we aim to raise another 15% from donations for our services. This leaves a shortfall of 35% in funding which is starting to get bigger as the demand for our services grows.
We aim to raise funds to meet this shortfall by applying for additional grant funding. We encourage all our employees, service users, volunteers and trustees to get involved in fundraising, throughout the year we have various fundraising events. We have at times benefited from local organizations that fundraise for local charities & we are working in partnership with local businesses to raise money & awareness.
